FABRUNNING VERDICT · RECOMMEND · 80 KM REVIEW
A comfortable daily trainer at a budget price
The Qiaodan WIND 4TR brings a softer, plusher ride to the WIND series while keeping the responsiveness that made the WIND 3.5 TR a favourite. After 80 km, my verdict is Recommend: a comfortable, well-built option for everyday road running, particularly when it is discounted.
It is not an automatic upgrade in every respect over the previous version. Its appeal is the combination of cushioning, an accommodating platform and good value. My review places it in the sub-₱2,500 range; actual prices depend on the seller, size and sale.
What works well
- Softer underfoot: a more forgiving ride for easy runs and everyday mileage.
- Still responsive: enough liveliness to pick up the pace during a daily run.
- Roomier platform: a wider midfoot and forefoot than the WIND 3.5 TR.
- Strong value: comfort and build quality are the main reasons for the Recommend verdict.
Keep in mind
- Different, not universally better: existing WIND 3.5 TR owners may not need to upgrade.
- Not a max-stack shoe: it retains more road feel than today’s tallest daily trainers.
- Fit is individual: a wider platform does not establish a formal wide-size fit or guarantee sizing.
- Prices move: the video cover and review quote historical prices, not a current offer.
Ride, fit and daily use
In my initial 30 km testing, the softer midsole, wider platform and small rocker adjustment made the WIND 4TR feel more plush than its predecessor. It was comfortable at easy paces without losing the energetic character of the WIND series. The full review retains that positive recommendation after 80 km.
This is a good starting point for runners seeking a comfortable road trainer for daily mileage, easy runs and occasional pace changes. The broad base adds a planted feel, but this page classifies it as a neutral daily trainer rather than a dedicated stability shoe.
